£13995 per person

A 10-day immersive expedition, providing an exhilarating opportunity to perfect wildlife photography across two juxtaposing environments. Experience the Big 05 in Zambia’s Lower Zambezi River in the same breath as Madagascar’s endemic species, on an award-winning luxury photographic adventure. Picture the world through a VIP lens on this wildlife focussed expedition from the Savannah to the Sea; Zambia to Madagascar. Through the bush and beyond, Mission05 have joined forces with Zambia’s ultimate wildlife connoisseurs as well as an exclusive Madagascan Island, to deliver an incredibly captivating wildlife photography workshop. At the heart of the activity, you will have your own stretch of the Zambezi River followed by your own Island, giving you the best chance for exceptional wildlife encounters.

A wildly intimate land safari paired with an exquisite private island, we invite you to endure enhanced photographic production. Capture the resident elephants wade across the river, snap the vervet monkeys scampering in the canopies and soar the skies on a heli-expedition over a Madagascan paradise.

The Ultimate Wildlife Photography Experience

Your base of the next 10 days captures the true essence of luxury, in the most natural of settings. To begin your journey, secured by local guides, you shall be led into Chongwe’s back yard, a retreat that is set within the most picturesque and remote landscape along Zambia’s Zambezi.

Dotted along the forested riverbanks of the Lower Zambezi River, Chongwe House is famed for having the best views, and active residents. Elephants casually wander through the camp as you read a book, stargaze, or swim in the pool after a long day out on safari. Despite the wild setting, luxury can be expected here at Chongwe. To compliment your tranquil and remote view, you can expect warm hospitality and extraordinary culinary delights. During your stay, enjoy our impressive wildlife photography workshops across a variety of safari encounters, created for the ultimate exploration of this magnificent African paradise. By land, you can enjoy game drives and walking safaris, or take to the rivers and explore with boat cruises, canoeing safaris and tiger-fishing. Get up close and personal to the Big Five, birding and game, as they nurture their natural surroundings. Back in camp, the brand new wildlife hide is also great for wildlife photography, especially rare nocturnal creatures under the stars.

From here, you will make your own way (private jet options available on request) to Nosy Ankao, where your remaining 05 nights are placed on a remote, deserted island in the north of Madagascar. Surrounded by castaway luxury, open your eyes and enjoy bountiful beauty. Explore and embrace the local endemic species of flora and fauna, discover natural habitats and take on the challenge of the local terrain. Helicopter, dive, fish, research and relax in the world’s most pristine and private lodge.

TOUR LOCATION

Chongwe River, Zambia

Chongwe River, Zambia

Located in Zambia’s Lower Zambezi Valley in the Chiawa Partnership Park (GMA), that borders the Lower Zambezi National Park, is one of the most established Lower Zambezi camps: Chongwe River Camp. This tented camp is nestled along the riverbank beneath a canopy of winterthorns (impressive tortuous trees) at the confluence of the Zambezi and Chongwe Rivers. Boasting breathtaking views and, quite often, elephants wandering the camp, this lodge has all the qualities to make you instantly fall in love with it. Hosts Flossie and Alan make sure you can truly unwind and switch off the rest of the world, while still offering an unmatched variety of activities: day and night drives, boat cruises, walking safaris, or their wildly popular, canoeing experience that offers you the opportunity to view wildlife from a unique vantage point. From this low perspective, nothing stands in the way between you and an unforgettable safari. .

Nosy Ankao, Madagascar

Only accessible by helicopter, Miavana lies on Nosy Ankao, close to Madagascar's northernmost point. Making up part of a larger archipelago, this isolated desert island sits amongst azure seas, surrounded by shallow coral reefs. White-sand beaches fringe the outer edges of the island, with deep green vegetation filling its interior. Broad, low palm trees dot the coastline and quiet fishing villages are hidden within the island's wide coves.

Chongwe House, Lower Zambezi

Prime Wildlife Viewing

Dotted along the forested riverbanks of the Lower Zambezi River, Chongwe is famed for having the best views, and active residents. Elephants casually wander through the camp as you read a book, stargaze, or swim in the pool after a long day out on safari. Despite the wild setting, luxury can be expected here at Chongwe Camp.

Chongwe House is unique in every way. This stunning two storey, four bedroom private house is set on a tranquil stretch of the Chongwe River against a beautiful mountainous backdrop. The Chongwe area is famous for large elephants, and they will frequently wander past in search of seed pods from the winterthorn trees or cross the river right in front of the house.

Effortlessly blending into the tranquil river setting, the Flintstone-like design flows through its curves, bending and evolving into open living spaces that celebrate the surrounding wilderness. Waterfall showers, private open air bathtubs, furniture carved from a winterthorn tree and ceilings studded with river pebbles complete the inspired design. Throughout your stay, a dedicated staff and guiding team will ensure your experience is wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable.

During your stay, enjoy our impressive variety of safari activities, created for the ultimate exploration of this magnificent African paradise. By land, you can enjoy game drives and walking safaris, or take to the rivers and explore with boat cruises, canoeing safaris and tiger-fishing.  At the nearby main camp, a brand new wildlife hide is great for photography, especially rare nocturnal creatures. To compliment your tranquil and remote view, you can expect warm hospitality and extraordinary culinary delights.
